Dentistry Scotland’s Awards 2017 Review
Dentistry Scotland’s managing editor, Seb Evans, thoughts on the Dentistry Scotland Awards.
‘Unbelievably it’s the end of another year and as we enter into the new year we naturally start to reflect and see how far we’ve come in the past year.
For those that entered the Dentistry Scotland Awards this year, however, they have already celebrated and reaped the rewards for the outstanding job they do on a day-to-day basis.
The competition was so high this year, which was proven by the number of different winners we had in some of the new and other more regular categories.
It was truly one of the best awards nights I have been to in Scotland.
But that is testament to the quality of dentistry currently being practised in Scotland, the awards are only as good as the entries we receive and the practices that enter.
And this year the practices and the entries were all of an exceptional standard.
Even for those that didn’t come away as winners, the awards hold such prestige now that being listed as a finalist is something to be proud of.’
Now is the chance to start thinking about 2019 and consider what you want to do differently.
The awards aren’t just for the ceremony at the end of the year, they’re a great chance to reflect on what you’re doing at the moment and think critically about the way you’re running your practice and potential areas to improve on.
Winning or coming in highly commended is also a great way to differentiate yourself from the practice down the road.
So if you do start to plan for the next year, maybe consider looking through the entry form for the Dentistry Scotland Awards, you never know.
