The University of Glasgow Dental School has been announced as the winner of the Oral Health Foundation award

It was given the award for its Big Smile Big Band Event at the Best National Smile Month Event.

Verified by the Guinness World Records, the dental school successfully created the world’s biggest ever smile at the SEC Glasgow on 9 June 2017.

The proud major sponsor of this event, The British Endodontic Society, is proud to have been involved, and felt the event highlighted the importance of oral health and celebrated the successes of the Childsmile programme, an NHS Scotland campaign aimed at improving the oral health of children in Scotland.

The record breaking human smile event was led by Dr Will McLean (lead for alumni development at the dental school) and Professor Jeremy Bagg (head of the dental school).
